A missed call is a missed customer. A review that sits unanswered for a week makes it look like nobody's home. A website that hasn't changed since it launched quietly tells people the business has moved on, even when it hasn't. None of these are rare problems. They're the default for most small businesses, not because owners don't care, but because there's only one of them and a hundred other things demanding their time.
I saw this up close working inside four small businesses over four years before starting The Devente Group. Different industries, different owners, the same story every time: the phone rang during a rush and nobody could get to it, reviews piled up because replying felt like one more chore nobody had time for, and the website was something everyone meant to get around to eventually.
Big companies solve this with departments. Small businesses solve it by doing without. I started The Devente Group, while still a student at the University of Florida, to close that gap: real tools that answer the phone, manage the reviews, and build the website, so a small business owner can spend their time on the business instead of everything happening around it.
I'm a student at the University of Florida. I started The Devente Group after four years working for four different small businesses. Every one of them had the same problem: never enough hours in the day for reviews, calls, and a website, on top of everything else that comes with running a business.
I built Nova, Beacon, and Forge to take that weight off. Right now, that means running things myself, one pilot business at a time. But the goal hasn't changed since day one: give small businesses the back office they've never had.
